Three Real-World Use Cases
Whether you face frequent power cuts, live in a remote area, or want to slash your peak-hour electricity bill — Solar + BESS has a solution for you.
🏠
Use Case 1

Residence with Unreliable Grid

Frequent power cuts? Never again.
The ProblemFrequent load shedding of 4–8 hrs/day. Generators are noisy, costly, and polluting. Inverters drain overnight.
  • ✓Solar charges the battery during the day
  • ✓Battery powers your home during cuts — silently
  • ✓No generator fuel cost, zero noise
  • ✓Automatic switchover in milliseconds
  • ✓Lights, fans, fridge, TV — all covered

Use Case 2

Remote Homes & Commercial Sites

Where grid either doesn't reach or is highly unreliable.
The ProblemNo grid connection or erratic supply. High cost of extending grid lines. Diesel gensets running 24×7.
  • ✓Fully off-grid or hybrid operation
  • ✓Solar + battery covers day & night load
  • ✓Eliminate ₹80–120/litre diesel cost
  • ✓Scalable — add panels or batteries as needed
  • ✓Ideal for resorts, farmhouses, clinics

Use Case 3

Commercial & Industrial — Peak Shifting

Store cheap solar energy. Use it instead of expensive grid power.
The ProblemHigh ToD peak-hour rates (6–10 PM). Excess solar generated at noon goes unused or exported at low rates.
  • ✓Excess solar stored in battery during daytime
  • ✓Battery discharges during costly evening peak hours
  • ✓Avoid grid ToD surcharge of ₹2–4/unit
  • ✓Maximise solar self-consumption to 90%+
  • ✓Reduces MD (Maximum Demand) charges
How it works
The Hybrid Inverter — Your Smart Energy Brain
A hybrid inverter connects solar panels, battery, grid, and your home or business loads — and decides every second which energy source to use. Think of it as a very smart traffic controller for electricity.
Energy priority order — how the inverter decides
1
Solar — free energy, always used first
Powers your loads directly from panels
2
Battery — your stored solar, second priority
Used automatically when solar isn't enough
3
Grid — only when solar + battery both fall short
Expensive; the inverter minimises this
4
Export to grid — surplus solar sent back
Earns net-metering credits (where allowed)
What happens at different times of the day
Morning (6 AM – 9 AM)
Solar starts generating. Inverter powers your loads from solar. Surplus goes to charge the battery. Grid not used.
Peak solar (10 AM – 3 PM)
Maximum generation. Loads fully powered by solar. Battery charges to 100%. Excess exported to grid, earning credits.
Evening (4 PM – 10 PM)
Solar reduces. Inverter switches to battery automatically — avoiding costly ToD peak-hour grid rates.
Grid cut / night
Battery continues powering essential loads. If battery is low and grid is available, it tops up automatically.
The result — maximum solar self-use, minimum grid dependence
A well-sized Solar + BESS system with a hybrid inverter achieves 85–95% solar self-consumption. For every ₹100 of electricity you'd normally pay the grid, you now pay under ₹10. The inverter handles all switching automatically — you don't touch anything.

FAQs — Solar + Storage
Can I add battery storage to my existing solar system? +
Yes, in most cases. If you have a regular solar inverter, it can be replaced or supplemented with a hybrid inverter, and batteries added. Our team will assess your existing system and recommend the most cost-effective upgrade path.
How many hours of backup will I get? +
It depends on your battery size and your load. A 10 kWh battery can power a typical 3 BHK home (essential loads: lights, fans, TV, fridge) for 8–12 hours. We size the system based on your actual consumption data.
Is LFP battery safe? How is it different from normal inverter batteries? +
LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries are among the safest lithium chemistries — no thermal runaway risk, no toxic fumes. They last 4–5× longer than lead-acid batteries, need zero maintenance, and can be mounted indoors. They are a completely different technology from old tubular/lead-acid inverter batteries.
What happens to the battery on a cloudy/rainy day? +
The battery will charge partially from whatever solar is available. For prolonged cloudy periods (3–4 days), the hybrid inverter automatically draws from the grid to top up the battery — so you are never without power. We account for local weather patterns when sizing your system.
Does BESS qualify for government subsidy? +
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana subsidy covers the solar panel component. Battery storage is currently not subsidised separately under most central schemes, though some state-level incentives exist. Our team will guide you through available subsidy options for your specific case.
